hood on the passenger side towards the windshield. I noticed what looks to be the cabin filter. You can pull some plastic cover over the filter. It is loose. Looks like a gasket where cover ends. I put a piece of tape to hold cover closed to take a picture. Not sure if this is supposed to be closed or open. Does anyone know?

I could not figure out how to delete at moment. I just joined forum. So apparently when you turn on the vehicle, the cover closes over the filter. Opens back up when you turn vehicle off. I has no idea it did this. First Durango i own.

I believe that is how the A/C system works depending on if your settings are set to outside air or recycle air.
that door is the recirculation door, DO NOT try to remove the filter from that side..... filter has to be removed from behind that glove box
I believe the main reason as to the snorkel being removed is to allow more fresh air in...my 11 DD has the snorkel and it picks up way too much hot air from the engine bay...im removing it tomorrow
I'm a dodge technician so instructions yes lol...but it's simple once you actually just look at it
a hell cat uses the same filters as any hemi...typically our large 899 filter instead of the smaller 349 filter. as for the lower covers usually its just 10mm's holding it up....i've yet to have a HC durango at my shop sadly, but i have had a 392 and the track hawk and its the same design
